Work Experience.[back to top] August, 1995 – January, 2008 University of North Carolina at Charlotte Director of Minority Academic Services Created, designed and executed the following programs: Student Advising for Freshmen Excellence (SAFE) Program and the Transfer Resource for Advancing the College Experience (TRACE) Program. Co-designed the University Transitions Opportunities Program (UTOP), the Producing Readiness of Diverse University Cohorts in Education (PRODUCE) Program. Other responsibilities include advising students, helping students on probation obtain tutors, conducting numerous workshops and conferences to better advise and aid in the retention of graduatation of minority students at UNCCharlotte.
August, 1987 – August 1995 Minority Student Advisor / Educational Support Services Served as academic advisor for entering freshmen students. Worked with them on course selection, obtaining tutoring, monitored and administered peer mentoring program.
Adjunct Assistant Professor /Afro American & African Studies Taught two courses in Afro-American and African Studies per semester
August, 1988 – August, 1989 Director/ Student Support Services Coordinated a federally funded program (TRIO) that serves 150 first generation, low income and disabled students. The program provided academic advising, tutorial services, mentoring, supplemental academic services, and social programs.

Worked closely with the coordinator of Pre Internships to secure and maintain accurate records of students enrolled in Phase I. Coordinated community involvement for Phase I students.
